About Arrowsmith East
Arrowsmith East is a very large and sparsely settled rural locality in the Mid West region of Western Australia, situated approximately 270 kilometres north of Perth near the town of Eneabba. The locality covers a vast 812 square kilometres of low-lying coastal heath, banksia woodland, and dry farming country. With a 2021 Census population of approximately 61 residents, it represents the extremely sparse settlement typical of the WA mid-coast agricultural fringe.
Eneabba, approximately 15 kilometres to the west, provides limited local services including a general store and fuel, while Geraldton (roughly 160 kilometres to the north) and Perth provide more comprehensive facilities. The Indian Ocean coastline is accessible nearby, and the area is notable for its diverse wildflower displays in spring. A private vehicle is essential as there is no public transport.
Arrowsmith East falls under postcode 6519 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Moore (Agricultural) electorate.
