About Balintore
Balintore is a small rural locality in the Corangamite Shire of Victoria, situated approximately 215 kilometres south-west of Melbourne near the town of Cobden. The locality covers around 16 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the lush dairy farming country of south-western Victoria's volcanic plains and basalt rolling hills, with a cool maritime climate supporting year-round pastures.
Cobden, approximately 10 kilometres to the north, is the main service centre for the Corangamite Shire providing a hospital, school, general stores, and community facilities, and is a town strongly associated with the dairy industry. The broader district is one of Victoria's most productive dairying regions, close to the Twelve Apostles and Great Ocean Road tourism corridor. A private vehicle is essential.
