Bearbong is a small rural locality within Gilgandra Shire in the central-western tablelands of New South Wales, situated approximately 50 kilometres south of Gilgandra and around 430 kilometres north-west of Sydney. Covering around 294 square kilometres of pastoral country, the locality sits within the civil parish of Gowen County and is drained by Wallumburrawang Creek, a tributary of the Castlereagh River. The 2021 Census recorded a population of just 72 people, reflecting the deeply rural character of the area. The locality sits on the traditional lands of the Weilwan people.
