Beaudesert is a regional town and locality in the Scenic Rim region of South East Queensland, situated approximately 70 kilometres south of Brisbane and 58 kilometres west of Surfers Paradise. Known by the Yugambeh name Yilbagan, it serves as the administrative centre of the Scenic Rim Regional Council and had a population of 6,752 at the 2021 Census. Located on the Albert River at an elevation of around 50 metres, the town is the commercial heart of the surrounding rural and agricultural hinterland. Beaudesert was established in the 1870s and retains much of its heritage character alongside modern services.
