Bulwer is a small coastal settlement on Moreton Island in South East Queensland, situated approximately 40 kilometres north-east of Brisbane by ferry from the mainland. The locality covers less than 1 square kilometre and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. Moreton Island is a national park island — largely undeveloped sand island with spectacular coastal features including Tangalooma Wrecks, blue lagoons, sand dunes, and pristine beaches.
Bulwer is the main settlement on the northern end of Moreton Island, with basic services including a general store, hotel, and boat ramp. The island is accessible by fast ferry from Brisbane or Redcliffe, making it a popular day trip and holiday destination.
