Chewton Bushlands is a very small rural locality in the Mount Alexander Shire of central Victoria, situated approximately 5 kilometres north of Chewton and roughly 10 kilometres east of Castlemaine. Covering just 1.5 square kilometres, it is one of the more compact localities in the Castlemaine goldfields region, with a 2021 Census population of approximately 50 residents. The locality is nestled within the ironbark and box woodland bushland of the Victorian goldfields, a landscape shaped by the region's gold rush heritage and subsequent natural regeneration.
