Condowie is a small rural locality in the Mid North region of South Australia, situated approximately 130 kilometres north of Adelaide near the town of Clare in the Clare Valley. The locality covers around 214 square kilometres of rolling farmland and recorded a population of approximately 61 residents at the 2021 Census. It lies within the broader Clare Valley agricultural district, known for premium wine production and mixed farming.
Clare, approximately 15 kilometres to the south-west, is the main service centre for the district and offers shops, a hospital, schools, and the popular Clare Valley Wine Trail. The surrounding countryside produces some of Australia's finest Riesling, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport operates in Condowie.
