Coolatai is a remote rural locality in the New England region of New South Wales, situated approximately 70 kilometres south-west of Inverell in the Gwydir Shire. Spread across more than 500 square kilometres of flat to gently undulating plains, the locality is dominated by extensive dryland cropping and livestock grazing operations typical of this part of the wheat and wool belt.
