Currabubula is a small village on the North West Slopes of the New England region of New South Wales, within the Liverpool Plains Shire local government area. Located on Werris Creek Road approximately 30 kilometres south-west of Tamworth and 15 kilometres north-east of Werris Creek, the village sits at an elevation of 433 metres above sea level. With a population of around 339 residents (2021 Census), Currabubula is a quiet agricultural community whose name derives from the Kamilaroi language — the Indigenous people who called this country home for thousands of years before European settlement in the 1850s.

Agriculture is the lifeblood of Currabubula, with beef cattle, sheep, and grain farming the mainstay of the local economy. The village is well-regarded as a 'horse-friendly' destination, with hundreds of acres of Travelling Stock Reserves available to trail riders exploring the broader New England high country. Currabubula has a public school and hotel, and hosts the annual Red Cross Art Exhibition that brings the community together each year. A former railway station on the Main Northern Line once connected the village to Tamworth and Sydney, operating from 1878 until 1985; today, residents travel to Tamworth for most goods and services.
