About Eurobodalla
Eurobodalla is a small rural locality on the South Coast of New South Wales, situated within the Eurobodalla Shire Council area from which it takes its name. With a 2021 Census population of just 80 residents across 40 square kilometres, it is a quiet, sparsely settled area inland from the coast. The name Eurobodalla derives from an Aboriginal word meaning 'land of many waters', reflecting the river systems and estuaries that characterise the broader region.
The locality sits in rural bushland country between the coast and the escarpment, with the nearest service town of Moruya approximately 20 kilometres to the south. Batemans Bay, the shire's largest town, lies about 35 kilometres to the north. The surrounding area is rich in natural attractions, including Eurobodalla National Park with its coastal walks, fishing spots, and camping areas. Residents rely on private vehicles for daily needs, with Canberra accessible via the Kings Highway, approximately 170 kilometres to the west.
Eurobodalla falls under postcode 2545 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Bega electorate.
