Gatton is a rural town and the administrative centre of the Lockyer Valley Region in South East Queensland, situated approximately 94 kilometres west-southwest of Brisbane. With a 2021 population of nearly 7,900, Gatton serves as the main hub for the surrounding agricultural district in the fertile Lockyer Valley. The town was established in 1855 and named after the village of Gatton in Surrey, England.
