Graytown is a small rural locality in north-central Victoria, situated approximately 180 kilometres north of Melbourne near the town of Nagambie in the Strathbogie Shire. The locality covers around 35 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. It is set within the box-ironbark woodland country of the Victorian drylands, historically significant for its gold mining activity during the 1850s rush.
Nagambie, approximately 15 kilometres to the south, is the main service centre for the district, providing shops, restaurants, a school, and community facilities, and is known for the Nagambie Lakes recreational reserve on the Goulburn River. Shepparton (roughly 40 kilometres to the north) offers comprehensive regional services. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves Graytown.
