Ingham is a rural town and administrative centre of the Hinchinbrook Shire in Far North Queensland, located approximately 110 kilometres north of Townsville. With a population of around 4,455 residents, this tropical town sits 17 kilometres inland on the Herbert River floodplain. Known locally as "Little Italy" due to its strong Italian heritage, Ingham has been a significant sugar cane farming region since the late 1800s.
