Kingston On Murray is a small Murray River town located approximately 214 kilometres north-east of Adelaide in the Riverland region of South Australia, within the Renmark Paringa Council area. Formerly known as Thurk, the town was renamed in honour of Charles Kingston, Premier of South Australia from 1893 to 1899, and sits on the southern bank of the Murray River. With a population of around 312 residents spread across some 84 square kilometres, Kingston On Murray is set amid a productive agricultural district of vineyards, orchards, and irrigated farmland.
