Koppio is a small rural locality on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, situated approximately 700 kilometres north-west of Adelaide near Port Lincoln. The locality covers around 168 square kilometres of rolling Eyre Peninsula farmland and recorded a population of approximately 61 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the scenic Koppio Hills, one of the few elevated landscapes on the central Eyre Peninsula, with mixed farming and remnant native vegetation.
Port Lincoln, approximately 25 kilometres to the south-east, is the main service centre for the district and one of Australia's major fishing ports, providing comprehensive services including hospitals, schools, a shopping centre, and an airport. The Koppio Smithy Museum, a restored heritage blacksmith workshop and farming museum, is a noted local attraction. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves the locality.
