Lankeys Creek is a small rural locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, situated approximately 380 kilometres south-west of Sydney near the town of Tumbarumba in the southern Snowy Mountains foothills. The locality covers around 136 square kilometres of high country pastoral land and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the transition between the Riverina plains and the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, with timber country and grazing properties.
Tumbarumba, approximately 20 kilometres to the east, is the main service town for the district, providing a hospital, school, general stores, and community facilities, and is known as a gateway to the Snowy Mountains and Bago State Forest. The surrounding area is popular for timber trail cycling, fishing, and access to the Snowy Mountains ski fields. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves the locality.
