About Methul
Methul is a small rural locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, situated approximately 460 kilometres south-west of Sydney near the town of Temora. The locality covers around 193 square kilometres of flat Riverina farmland and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. The area is typical of the southern Riverina, with broad paddocks of wheat, canola, and sheep grazing on fertile plains soils.
Temora, approximately 20 kilometres to the south-east, provides the main services for the district including a hospital, schools, supermarkets, and an aviation heritage museum. The Temora Aviation Museum houses one of the world's finest collections of flying WWII aircraft. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves Methul.
