Orange Grove is a small rural locality in the North West Slopes region of New South Wales, situated approximately 430 kilometres north of Sydney near Gunnedah and Coonabarabran. The locality covers around 104 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. It lies in the productive farming country of the upper Namoi River district, known for mixed farming, dryland cropping, and beef cattle grazing.
Gunnedah, approximately 35 kilometres to the north-east, is the main service centre for the district, known as the Koala Capital of the World and providing a hospital, schools, and a railway station on the North West Line. The surrounding countryside features black soil plains, spotted gum timber country, and typical North West Slopes landscapes. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves the locality.
