Pallal is a small rural locality in the New England region of New South Wales, situated in the Gwydir Shire approximately 85 kilometres west of Inverell and 80 kilometres east of Moree. The locality covers a large area of around 246.4 square kilometres of open plains and farming country on the north-western slopes of NSW, with a 2021 census population of 66 residents. Pallal lies within the Gwydir Shire — a vast council area formed by the 2004 amalgamation of the former Yallaroi, Bingara, and Barraba shires — and forms part of the region's extensive broadacre farming district. The area is characterised by wheat, sorghum, and cotton farming on the flat to gently undulating country of NSW's North West Plains.

Pallal has no village centre or local services, and residents rely entirely on surrounding towns for all daily needs. Bingara, the Gwydir Shire seat, provides essential services including a supermarket and school, while Inverell (to the east) and Moree (to the west) offer full regional services.
