Paynedale is a small rural locality in the South West region of Western Australia, situated approximately 180 kilometres south of Perth near the town of Harvey. The locality covers around 77 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the fertile coastal plain country of the Harvey district, known for its intensive dairy farming, vegetable growing, and fruit production fed by Harvey irrigation.
Harvey, approximately 10 kilometres to the north, is the main service centre for the district providing shops, schools, a hospital, and the Harvey Juice Factory — a well-known regional agricultural landmark. The surrounding Harvey district is one of WA's premier dairying and horticulture regions. A private vehicle is needed as no public transport directly serves Paynedale.
