Rookhurst is a small rural locality in the Mid North Coast hinterland of New South Wales, situated approximately 280 kilometres north of Sydney near the town of Gloucester. The area is characterised by rolling farming and forested hill country in the Barrington-Manning ranges hinterland, used for beef cattle grazing.
Gloucester, approximately 15 kilometres to the south-east, is the gateway town for the Barrington Tops World Heritage Area, providing shops, a hospital, schools, and community facilities. The surrounding district is known for premium beef production, scenic gorge country, and access to Barrington Tops National Park.
