About Seal Rocks
Seal Rocks is a small coastal village in the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, situated approximately 300 kilometres north of Sydney in the Myall Lakes National Park area. With a 2021 Census population of 56 residents, it is a remote but beloved holiday destination characterised by its pristine beaches, rocky headland, and lighthouse. The locality lies within the Mid-Coast Council area.
Seal Rocks is famous for its lighthouse at Sugarloaf Point, its remarkable surfing beach, and its clear waters ideal for diving and snorkelling. Grey nurse sharks gather at Fly Point and The Pinnacles, making it an important marine conservation site. Access is via a long winding road through Myall Lakes National Park, contributing to its secluded character. A private vehicle is essential and there is no public transport. While facilities are very limited in the village itself, Forster is the nearest town approximately 50 kilometres away.
