The locality lies just south of the historic township of Pambula near Pambula Lake, a significant estuarine waterway connecting to the coast between Merimbula and Eden. With a population of 493 according to the 2021 Census, South Pambula is a quiet residential and rural fringe community that benefits from its proximity to the natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast.
