The locality lies just south of the historic township of Pambula near Pambula Lake, a significant estuarine waterway connecting to the coast between Merimbula and Eden. With a population of 493 according to the 2021 Census, South Pambula is a quiet residential and rural fringe community that benefits from its proximity to the natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast.
South Pambula sits in one of the most scenic stretches of the New South Wales coastline, with Pambula Lake offering excellent fishing, kayaking, and birdwatching opportunities.
