About Spring Ridge
Spring Ridge is a small town in northeastern New South Wales, situated in the Liverpool Plains Shire on the fertile Liverpool Plains region. The town sits within the Binnaway–Werris Creek rail corridor and is serviced by a station on that line, with Tungenbone Road running east-west through the community towards Coonabarabran and Werris Creek. With a population of 266 at the 2021 Census, Spring Ridge serves as a quiet agricultural service point amid the plains' productive farming country.
The town has a modest but functional community infrastructure including the Royal Hotel, a general store, a primary school, and golf and tennis clubs. The surrounding Liverpool Plains are some of the most productive agricultural land in NSW, supporting wheat, cotton, and livestock farming across expansive black soil paddocks. The area is accessible to Tamworth — the major regional centre — approximately 90 kilometres to the north-east, providing Spring Ridge residents with access to a full range of urban services.
Spring Ridge falls under postcode 2343 and is governed by the Liverpool Plains Council (Local Government Area). For federal elections, residents vote in the electorate of Parkes, while state elections fall under the Tamworth electorate.
