Tanilba Bay is a waterfront suburb on the Tilligerry Peninsula in the Port Stephens local government area, approximately 45 kilometres north-east of Newcastle. With a population of around 3,200 and a median age of 48, the suburb has a relaxed, retirement-friendly character. The area is steeped in colonial history, with the state heritage-listed Tanilba House dating back to the 1830s.
