Venus Bay is a small remote coastal locality on the far western coast of South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, situated approximately 680 kilometres north-west of Adelaide near Port Lincoln. The locality covers around 126 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. It occupies a stunning coastal position on Venus Bay, featuring exposed rugged coastline, sea cliffs, fishing spots, and the remote windswept character of the western Eyre Peninsula.
Port Lincoln, approximately 90 kilometres to the south-east, is the main service centre for the region providing comprehensive facilities including a hospital, schools, supermarkets, and an airport with flights to Adelaide. Venus Bay is popular with adventurous fishers and surfers who prize the remote, pristine conditions of this section of the Southern Ocean coastline. A private vehicle and often a 4WD are essential.
