About Warrubullen
Warrubullen is a small rural locality in Far North Queensland, situated approximately 1,700 kilometres north of Brisbane near the town of Innisfail in the Cassowary Coast region. The locality covers around 16 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. The area is set in the lush tropical lowlands south of Innisfail, characterised by sugarcane farms, banana plantations, and tropical rainforest edges typical of the Cassowary Coast.
Innisfail, approximately 15 kilometres to the north, provides the main services for the district including a hospital, schools, supermarkets, and is noted for its stunning Art Deco architecture. The Cassowary Coast is named for the endangered Southern Cassowary and is home to World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforest and spectacular coastal scenery. Cairns is roughly 90 kilometres to the north. A private vehicle is the practical transport.
