About Willigobung
Willigobung is a small rural locality in the Snowy Valleys region of New South Wales, situated approximately 17 kilometres north of Tumbarumba and 55 kilometres south of Tumut. With a population of just 63 residents in the 2021 Census, the locality covers about 31 square kilometres of productive grazing country on the western fringe of the Snowy Mountains. It forms part of the Snowy Valleys Council local government area and falls within the state electorate of Albury.
The landscape around Willigobung features rolling pastures of ryegrass and clover, sheltered creek flats and the rugged backdrop of the Great Dividing Range. The community has its own Rural Fire Service brigade, reflecting the resilience and self-sufficiency characteristic of remote NSW farming localities.
