Woodside is a small rural locality in the New England region of New South Wales, situated approximately 520 kilometres north of Sydney near the town of Tenterfield on the Northern Tablelands. The locality covers around 126 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the granite highland country of the Northern Tablelands near the Queensland border, used for sheep grazing and mixed farming.
Tenterfield, approximately 15 kilometres to the north-west, is a charming historic town providing shops, schools, community facilities, and the Sir Henry Parkes Museum, celebrating the father of Australia's Federation movement. The New England Tablelands offers spectacular autumn foliage, sapphire gemfields, and access to Bald Rock National Park. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves Woodside.
