Wunghnu (pronounced 'wun-yoo') is a small rural town in the Goulburn Valley region of northern Victoria, located within the Shire of Moira approximately 204 kilometres north of Melbourne and 27 kilometres from the regional centre of Shepparton. The town spans roughly 54 square kilometres of flat, productive farming land and, according to the 2021 Census, has a population of approximately 326 residents across 127 dwellings. Wunghnu's character is deeply agricultural, with dairy farming and horticulture the backbone of the local economy for generations.
