Yeoval is a small village in the Central Western district of New South Wales, located approximately 339 kilometres north-west of Sydney, 78 kilometres north-west of Orange, and 41 kilometres west of Wellington within the Cabonne Shire. With a population of around 221 (2021 Census urban centre figure), the village is set amid gently undulating farming country at an elevation of 292 metres and is surrounded by grazing and cropping properties on the edge of the Central Tablelands. Yeoval is widely known as the childhood home of celebrated Australian poet Banjo Paterson, lending it a special place in the nation's literary heritage.
