Bambun is a small rural locality in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, situated approximately 100 kilometres north-east of Perth near the town of Toodyay. The locality covers around 61 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 60 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the rolling hills and jarrah forest country of the Avon Valley, transitioning to the wheatbelt grain farming zones to the east.
Toodyay, approximately 15 kilometres to the south-east, is a picturesque heritage town on the Avon River providing shops, schools, community facilities, and a charming heritage streetscape popular with day-trippers from Perth. Northam, roughly 40 kilometres to the east, offers more comprehensive services as the main Wheatbelt centre. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves Bambun.
