Delegate is a small rural town in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area of far southern New South Wales, situated on the Delegate River approximately 523 kilometres south-west of Sydney and around 165 kilometres south-east of Canberra. Located just 13 kilometres north of the New South Wales–Victoria border and about 35 kilometres south of Bombala, Delegate occupies a vast locality of over 273 square kilometres on the Monaro Tablelands. The town has a 2021 Census population of 295, with the broader area supporting a pastoral and grazing economy that has been the backbone of the region for over a century.
