About Keppoch
Keppoch is a small rural locality in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia, situated approximately 270 kilometres south-east of Adelaide within the Wattle Range Council area. Covering around 108 square kilometres of farmland and coastal hinterland, the locality lies south of Millicent near the Coorong's southern end and the rugged coastline of the Limestone Coast. With a 2021 Census population of 65 residents, Keppoch is a quiet pastoral community in one of South Australia's premier agricultural and wine-producing regions.
The Limestone Coast region is celebrated for its exceptional wines — particularly the Coonawarra, Padthaway, and Wrattonbully wine regions — and for its productive dairy and beef farming on the fertile volcanic soils of the region. The township of Millicent, approximately 20 kilometres to the south, provides schools, supermarkets, and hospital services. The scenic Canunda National Park and the Beachport coast are nearby attractions, adding a coastal and natural recreation dimension to the otherwise agricultural character of Keppoch.
Keppoch falls under postcode 5271 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Mackillop electorate.
