Learmonth is a small historic town in central Victoria, located approximately 136 kilometres west of Melbourne and 23 kilometres north-west of Ballarat, within the City of Ballarat local government area. Situated on the Sunraysia Highway beside the shores of Lake Learmonth, the township was first established in 1837 and served as the original local government headquarters for the historic Shire of Ballarat.
