Marayong is a suburban community located approximately 32 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD, within the City of Blacktown local government area. Home to around 7,834 residents as of the 2021 Census, the suburb takes its name from the Dharug word 'Mariyung', meaning emu or place of cranes.
