Plenty is a small rural locality in the Derwent Valley region of Tasmania, situated approximately 50 kilometres north-west of Hobart along the Derwent River valley. The locality covers around 33 square kilometres of productive farmland, river flats, and forested hillsides in one of southern Tasmania's most scenic inland corridors. With a 2021 Census population of 66 residents, Plenty is a quiet agricultural community that benefits from the natural beauty of the Derwent Valley.
The locality is known for its rich agricultural traditions, with orchards, vegetable farms, and grazing properties taking advantage of the fertile river soils. The Derwent River provides opportunities for fishing and kayaking, while the scenic landscape draws nature lovers and visitors travelling between Hobart and the central highlands. New Norfolk, approximately 15 kilometres downstream, provides the nearest schools, supermarkets, and medical facilities for residents.
