About Rosanna

Rosanna is an established leafy suburb in Melbourne's north-east, located just 12 kilometres from the CBD in the City of Banyule. With a population of around 8,600, it occupies a picturesque setting on the fringe of the Yarra Valley green belt. Named after Elizabeth Anna Rose, wife of early settler James Watson who established Rose Anna Farm here in 1840, the suburb has evolved from farmland into one of Melbourne's most desirable middle-ring residential areas.

Rosanna is renowned for its beautiful parklands, heritage architecture and tree-lined streets with generous homes. The suburb benefits from excellent public transport via the modernised elevated Rosanna station, quality schools, and a village shopping strip along Lower Plenty Road and Beetham Parade. It attracts families and professionals who value the combination of leafy suburban character, strong community feel and convenient city access.

Rosanna falls under postcode 3084 and is governed by Banyule Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Ivanhoe (North-Eastern Metropolitan) electorate.
