South Kilkerran is a small coastal locality on the eastern side of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, situated approximately 180 kilometres north-west of Adelaide near the town of Kadina. The locality covers around 68 square kilometres and recorded a population of approximately 59 residents at the 2021 Census. The area features the exposed coastal terrain of the eastern Yorke Peninsula on Gulf St Vincent, with mixed cereal farming and coastal grazing properties.
Kadina, approximately 20 kilometres to the south, is the main service centre for the Copper Triangle — the three Yorke Peninsula mining towns — providing a hospital, schools, supermarkets, and community facilities. The Yorke Peninsula is famous for its rich copper mining heritage, excellent fishing, and the annual Kernewek Lowender Cornish festival. A private vehicle is essential as no public transport serves South Kilkerran.
