Surveyors Bay is a small coastal locality on the Huon Peninsula in southern Tasmania, situated approximately 55 kilometres south of Hobart near the town of Geeveston. Covering around 11 square kilometres, it recorded a 2021 Census population of 56 residents. The locality lies within the Huon Valley Council area, in one of Tasmania's most beautiful and productive apple-growing regions.
The Huon Valley is famous for its apple orchards, salmon farming, and the spectacular World Heritage Wilderness surrounding the valley. Visitors and locals enjoy the Tahune AirWalk, whale watching at Recherche Bay, and the wild scenery of South West National Park accessible to the south. Geeveston, approximately 15 kilometres away, provides basic services for Surveyors Bay residents. A private vehicle is essential; there is no public transport.
