Vaughan is a small historic locality in the Loddon Shire of central Victoria, situated approximately 120 kilometres north-west of Melbourne near the town of Chewton in the Central Goldfields. Covering around 9.6 square kilometres, it recorded a 2021 Census population of 55 residents. The locality is set in the beautiful Loddon River valley, in a region of historic goldfields heritage and natural springs.
Vaughan is famous for its mineral springs, which were discovered during the gold rush era and continue to draw visitors today. The nearby Vaughan Springs Reserve offers picnicking, swimming in the Loddon River, and access to bushwalking trails.
