About Gingkin
Gingkin is a small rural locality in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, situated approximately 35 kilometres south of Lithgow and 15 kilometres north of Oberon within the Oberon Council area. Covering around 141 square kilometres, the locality recorded a population of 62 at the 2021 Census. The area lies in the high-country farming district of the Oberon Plateau, where cool-climate conditions support cattle and sheep grazing as well as potato and vegetable growing.
The Oberon district is known for its cool-climate agriculture, state forests, and proximity to the scenic Jenolan Caves system to the north.
