Central Tilba is a heritage-listed historic village on the New South Wales South Coast, located approximately 10 kilometres south-west of Narooma and 60 kilometres north of Bega, within the Eurobodalla Shire. With a population of 342 at the 2021 Census, the entire village has been classified by the National Trust of Australia as a Conservation Area, preserving its Victorian-era streetscape and original timber buildings dating to the 1890s. The locality spans 39.4 square kilometres of surrounding rural land, and a lower median tax income of around $33,000 reflects its small, community-focused character and reliance on tourism and local trades. The striking peak of Gulaga (Mount Dromedary) rises dramatically behind the village as a defining natural landmark.

Central Tilba is one of the best-preserved historic villages on the NSW coast, drawing visitors to its heritage shopfronts, the famous ABC Cheese Factory (a local institution producing a range of award-winning cheeses), boutique galleries, craft stores, and the historic Dromedary Hotel. The village is protected under National Trust heritage provisions and retains much of its original 19th-century character along Bate Street. Nearby Tilba Tilba, the Wallaga Lake National Park, and the Eurobodalla's coastal beaches and lakes add to the lifestyle appeal of this creative, community-spirited corner of the South Coast. With the Princes Highway passing nearby, Narooma and Bega are both within easy reach by car.
