About Corunna
Corunna is a small coastal locality on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, situated within the Eurobodalla Shire approximately 5 kilometres north of Narooma. The locality covers around 11.5 square kilometres of coastal terrain fronting Corunna Lake, a picturesque coastal lagoon with an intermittently open entrance to the sea. With a 2021 Census population of 83 residents, Corunna is a quiet, semi-rural enclave popular with those drawn to the lakes, beaches, and bushland of the Eurobodalla coast.
Corunna Lake is the locality's defining natural feature — a scenic water body set within the Eurobodalla National Park and recognised as habitat for sea birds including the white-bellied sea eagle. The lake and surrounding areas offer fishing, boating, waterskiing, and kayaking, with a public picnic area and boat ramp maintained by NSW National Parks. Residents travel to Narooma for everyday services, shopping, and the Great Southern Rail (NSW TrainLink), while the historic villages of Central Tilba and Tilba Tilba are within a short drive, adding to the region's charm and heritage appeal.
Corunna falls under postcode 2546 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Monaro electorate.
